WORC's Principles of Community Organizing is a hands-on workshop covering the basics of leadership, fundraising, organizational development, and community organizing.

These workshops cover the most important skills for organizers and leaders of grassroots community organizations.

To make these workshops lively, effective, and participatory, trainers
use small group activities, videos, role plays, and open discussion.
Each participant receives a copy of Applying the Principles of Community Organizing, a practical notebook of support materials.

Tuition is $50 for staff and members in the WORC network and $300 for outside participants. Tuition does not cover meals, travel, or lodging.

Members in the WORC network are eligible for the $50 tuition upon approval of their member group and WORC. Interested members must contact their member group when applying for the training to receive the lower rate.

  • Contact your member group about your participation.
  • Complete the application online or mail or fax it to WORC
  • Explain why you want to participate in the training and how it will benefit your member group.
  • Pay $50 tuition fee.
  • Arrange travel and lodging.

  • Complete the application online or mail or fax it to WORC.
  • Explain why you want to participate in the training.
  • Upon acceptance of your application by WORC, pay $300 tuition fee.
  • Arrange travel and lodging.
Reserve Your Seat

Space is limited. WORC members and staff have priority placement. WORC reserves your space in the training after approval of your application and payment of the fee. Applicant agrees to attend all sessions of the training.
