WORC's Principles of Community Organizing is a hands-on workshop covering the basics of leadership, fundraising, organizational development, and community organizing.

These workshops cover the most important skills for organizers and leaders of grassroots community organizations.

To make these workshops lively, effective, and participatory, trainers
use small group activities, videos, role plays, and open discussion.
Each participant receives a copy of Applying the Principles of Community Organizing, a practical notebook of support materials.

Tuition is $50 for members of a WORC group and $300 for non-members. Tuition does not cover meals, travel, or lodging.

Leaders in the WORC member groups are eligible for the $50 tuition upon approval of their WORC member group and WORC. Interested leaders must contact their member group when applying for the training to receive the lower rate.

  • Complete online application (send in payment) or print, fill out, and mail application to WORC.
  • Use online form provided or send letter with your printed application describing why you want to participate in the training. Explain how the training would benefit your member group and you.
  • Contact your member group about your participation.
  • Include $50 tuition payment.

  • Include $300 tuition payment.
Reserve Your Seat

Space is limited. WORC leaders and staff have priority placement. WORC reserves your space in the training on approval of your application and payment of the fee. Applicant agrees to attend all sessions of the training.
